This online gallery showcases paintings and drawings by Michael Boardman.

I paint primarily in watercolor, which is the antithesis of the digital illustration work I do. Watercolor allows for the unexpected in the painting process, and is quite portable, which is convenient since most of my landscape work is done plein-air (on location). My wildlife art is based on sketches form direct observation where possible, I try to work from life to capture the spirit of a place or animal. Everything is individual and I don't like to generalize over details that may speak about the place I'm trying to capture. Many of the pieces in this gallery are available for sale, and I can do commissioned work of specific places or creatures.
